VETERANS RETREAT: June 30-July 2 2017

Pope Francis mentioned in October 2016 that we are being called to nourish the spiritual and ethical dimensions of members of the military and their families. He encourages us to teach them prayer as a way of dealing with this new reality.

What: A  retreat for U.S. Military Veterans featuring a series of talks presented by Fr. Jim Conroy, S.J. - A Jesuit priest and Vietnam Veteran.  Each talk will be followed by small group breakout sessions for attendees to share their own experiences related to the topics presented.  We will also have worship services and quiet time for personal prayer and reflection.  Attendees will each receive private accommodations at White House and all meals are provided.

Why: The retreat will help veterans focus on their military experience and how God was with them and continues to be with them.  It digs in to trauma created by PTSD and guilt and shame that can accompany military experience.  It does require that participants be able to enter into quiet reflection and be able to listen to the experiences of others.

When: June 30- July 2, 2017 (Friday-Sunday).  Check in is from 5:00 PM to 6:00PM on Friday June 30 and the retreat will conclude at 2:00 PM on Sunday July 2nd.

(Opening night dinner will begin promptly at 6pm)

Where: White House Jesuit Retreat- 7400 Christopher Drive, St. Louis, MO 63129.

Who: This retreat is open to men and women of any denomination who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Cost: White House operates on a free-will offering basis asking attendees to simply give what they feel they can at the conclusion of the retreat. We do simply require a $25 deposit to register.

Space is limited!
